Fisherman is a system for managing and monitoring
the sustainable exploitation of wild or communally
owned natural resources, such as fish, shellfish,
wild game, timber, or firewood. It was originally
developed for and modelled on the Solway Shellfish
Management Association, which manages extraction
of shellfish from the Scottish shore of the Solway
Firth. Fisherman is widely applicable to
situations where a natural resource is sustainably
managed.
